Common Misconceptions about Web Traffic and Search Engines

1. May 2008 08:29, shahjee

Starting and maintaining a website is not just about creating a homepage then some subpages then posting them in the internet. Especially if your planning on having an ecommerce site.

There tens of millions of websites in the internet and chances are high you are not alone with the site you have in mind. The competition can bury you if you don’t do anything to promote your site and let the people know that you are out there. Without any web traffic, your site is as good as non-existent.

Web traffic is a vital component in generating profit and a successful website. It determines the ranking and the rate of websites. If the web designers cannot produce the targeted visitors for the websites, the sale will go down.

In normal ways, the owner and the webmasters of a certain site are the persons in charge to carry the web traffic to a definite search engine.

Search engines are the main ingredient in order for the website to produce traffic and visitors.

Web traffic can be very important as well in terms of advertising. The old way of advertising in the real world is very costly, well not in web traffic. It is also very significant in terms of publishing the products. By means of web traffic business the product can be publicized without spending a lot of money.

Another important matter is, web traffic can generate income to the web owner. The websites must have a high standing in ranking in search engines and reliable information for the visitors.

On the other hand, search engines can maximize the generated target for the web visitors.  Unluckily, there are a lot of websites owners and webmasters who do not know the importance of search engine ranking.

Ranking in search engines is very important because it leads to web traffic. Most of the web owners want to have a good-looking website without taking the consideration of the ranking. Remember that belonging on the top rank can take you to the top.

The importance of web traffic must be given a huge concern and attention. Here are the lists of frequent error that the web owner usually committed.

Most of the web designers do not use the keywords efficiently. Keywords are very effective in terms of web traffic. It is the best way for the search engines to rank the websites. The keywords must be the key for the visitors to locate the site easily.

Replicating similar keywords. There are webmasters who keeps on repeating the same keywords over and over again. It is called keyword stocking. As a result, the search engine may skip the page or the entire website.

Raiding the pages and other websites. It is important for the web designer to know how important links are. Most of the time, there are web designers who rob icons from other websites and use it for their own purpose. The web designers should have a unique idea of their own. Search engines are very powerful in detecting the websites that have the same icon content. It is very important in order to prevent the sites from being out listed in the main search engines.

• There are webmasters and designers who use the keywords that are not connected to their websites.  One thing that they should do is to maintain websites that have protocol. The unconnected topics and keywords must be removed. Remember search engines are smart, it can consider the page as spam and be automatically eliminated from the list.

• Having stuffed keywords. There are websites that have a multiple graphic description. Stuffed keywords can make the websites layered and appeared awkward to the search engines. If the search engines detected the website parameter that contains massive amount of keywords and graphics, the search engine can consider the site as spam.

• There are websites that relies on the hidden text. The keywords should not be hidden or invisible. There are clever designers who hide keywords by making it appears as the same color with the site background.

• False presumption about search engines. There are web designers who presume that all search engines has the same category that plays the same functions and roles. Make it a point to learn about the appropriate requirements of each search engine.

• As much as possible don’t use free web hosting. One of the basic significance of web hosting is to have a promising increase on search engine ranking.

Web designers must not commit those said mistakes in order to gain high-ranking sites. It will also keep the websites from being banned by the search engines. Keep in mind that if the websites has a lot of visitors it can also promise the web owner a soaring profit.

7 Tried and True Ways to Get More Subscribers

5. Apr 2008 20:26, shahjee

You've made the decision to start your own ezine or newsletter. You've formatted your newsletter, written an article or tip or two and sent it to your parents, siblings and friends.

Great! Now what?

The question I'm asked most from new ezine/newsletter publishers is how to get more subscribers on their list.

Here are 7 simple ways for you to grow your ezine list - - with integrity and authenticity!

1. Make it easy.

It's amazing to me how many people have only one sign-up spot on their website or don't include an invitation to sign up for their newsletter in their email signature.

You need to make it glaringly obvious to EVERYONE that you would like to share your newsletter with them: put a sign-up box on *every* page of your website, include an invitation in your Resource Box and on your email signature. Include a note on the back of your business card and any brochures or flyers you send out.

2. Coregistration.

Speak with ezine publishers who offer products or services which are complementary to yours.

When someone signs up for your newsletter, you refer your colleague's newsletter and vice versa. Coregistration has the benefit of adding subscribers to both your and your colleague's newsletter with no real effort.

3. Squeeze Page.

A squeeze page consists of either a simple one page website where the sole goal is to collect email addresses for your ezine OR it's a "front page" over your actual website where visitors can either choose to enter their information, click away or, in most cases, click to "enter site".

4. Ezine Directories.

You can submit your ezine to online directories such at Charlie Page's Directory of Ezines (www.directoryofezines.com). The Directory allows people to search ezines by topic and decide if they wish to subscribe. It also allows other ezine publishers to contact you about using one of your articles in their newsletter.

5. Advertising.

Take a good look at other websites/newsletters which cater to your target market and advertise either on their sites or in their ezines.

By focusing only on those sites/ezines which cater to your niche, you will have a higher chance of getting interested prospects as subscribers.

6. Direct Mail.

Send a postcard to members of your target audience where you do nothing aside from inform them about your ezine and invite them to sign up.

If you are a virtual assistant who works with real estate agents, you could send a postcard to all the local (and not-so-local) real estate agents and invite them to become a subscriber.

7. Speaking.

One of the fastest ways to get sign-ups for your newsletter is to speak at public events and offer a susbscription to your ezine. You can speak at your local chamber of commerce, BNI Chapter, real estate company, or any civic groups such as the Rotary Club or Lions.

You can also offer a drawing where you give something away in exchange for names and email addresses. Just remember to let your audience know that everyone *wins* a subscription to your newsletter!

There are dozens of additional strategies to get people to sign up for your newsletter. Do some research and choose those which most resonate with you. Remember the old adage: "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" -- the same is true in obtaining a thousand subscribers!

Web Promotion Methods

9. Mar 2008 20:34, shahjee

Web promotion is very important aspect in online marketing. Your web site should have the best possible visibility for the online population. While promoting your web site you should focus on the content. You have to project your services better than your competitors. Select the best keywords which can drive traffic to your web site. Keywords selection is the initial and very first step in web promotion. From choosing the domain name to designing should be under the guidance of search engine optimizer then it is easy to promote your web site. Here I will tell you some of important points which are useful in web promotion.

1. Initially select the right and related keywords about your industry. Divide the keywords into primary and secondary according to their competition.

2. Then choose the easy navigation structure which is useful for the visitors as well as for the search engines. Design site for the visitors not for the search engines.

3. Then write the unique content for your keywords. Place the unique content in Meta description tags. Never try to place keyword rich Meta description as this is harmful to your web site.

4. Body content of pages should be very informative and user friendly. Never use the complicated words try to use the general words. Never bother about the keyword density in the beginning.

5. Try to differentiate your services or products from the competitors. Just put your services as it is how it is. Never go for the unnecessary hype because it cause problems for your site.

6. Traffic is necessary but targeted traffic is more necessary. From the beginning you should have the clear idea about your web promotion. Use the free tools like Google analytics, webmaster tools and if your web site hosted in Linux servers your control panel it self shows details about search keyword phrases, unique visitors, hits etc.,

7. After completing the content and Meta structure submit your web site in directories and search engines. Before submitting frame the different descriptions, title and use randomly.

8. Then go for the link building. Link backs are like online votes that’s why you need to approach your subject related web sites. Link request should be very convincing and you should explain why link backs are necessary and write the advantages and it should be small and straight.

9. Create the blogs and write about your services or products. Publish the unique content in blogs never post the duplicate content. Duplicate content is always harmful.

10. Next go for the article submissions. Initially submit article in one article portal if it is accepted then submit in many article portals. Max article portals use similar method to check the duplicate content.

In my next article I will tell you most advanced and result oriented web promotion methods for the static as well as for the dynamic sites

Making the Most of Customer Testimonials

24. Feb 2008 03:22, shahjee

Displaying customer testimonials on your website or in your print collateral can be a great tool for building confidence among prospective buyers resulting in an increase in sales. Customer testimonials have been used for hundreds of years and are still a primary motivator for moving individuals further along the purchase decision process.

Although customer testimonials have remained commonplace, their format and medium have changed. Today, with the advent of social networks and emerging technologies, testimonials take the form of blog entries, forum posts, quotes, audio testimonials, videos, and more.

When providing testimonials for your product or service, there are a number of fundamental practices you should consider. Presenting your testimonials in the correct manner can optimize your results. Follow these helpful tips when applying testimonials on your website or in your communications.

1. The medium is the message. Depending on your target audience, the medium you choose to display your testimonials can make or break their effectiveness. For example, if you're trying to reach today's generation, video may be the most popular technique. With the advent of YouTube and sites that allow users to upload video, the medium has taken on a life of its own.

If you're promoting your products to teenagers or those in their early twenties, consider testimonials from peers in video format. Hearing key messages from someone in their own cohort using the correct medium, is much more powerful than a generic message from a so called expert.

2. Provide detailed information of the individual leaving the testimonial. Not only do individuals like to hear from others, but they want to know that the testimonial is from a real person who's just like them. When posting or providing a testimonial, make sure to include the individuals name and some demographic information. This adds to the legitimacy of the testimonial and helps people resonate with their comments.

3. Categorize your testimonials. Having a long list of testimonials that don't appear to have any particular order is difficult for browsers to navigate. When you are providing your listing, regardless of the format you're using, make it easy for browsers to select the testimonial that would be most relevant to their needs.

Successful websites categorize their testimonials. For example, they can be categorized by type such as 'customer service', 'price', or 'quality'. Other classification schemes may include user types such as 'student', 'entry-level', or 'professional'. When categorizing your testimonials, consider how your audience is segmented and choose a logical format.

4. Vary your testimonial formats. Experiment with different types of testimonial formats. In addition to basic web posts, you should try adding audio or video and measure the views. By offering multiple formats you are appealing to different styles and therefore maximizing exposure.

5. Update your testimonials on a regular basis. Don't let your testimonials get stale. Whether you provide a date that the testimonial was submitted, or not, you should strive to add testimonials on a regular basis. Individuals who come back to your website or revisit your promotional materials can benefit from finding new content.

Testimonials are a powerful tool for promoting your products or services. When considering testimonials for your website or marketing materials, be sure to think about your audience and provide a compelling display of customer feedback. Consumers want to hear from others like them. Learn to leverage testimonials and watch your sales start to climb!

Internet Marketing The Right Way

10. Feb 2008 20:14, shahjee

The most important task in internet marketing is search engine optimization and submission. There are some quality directories and search engines where you can submit your website. By submitting your website to the quality directories, search engines will be able to find your website.

Be careful to avoid services promise to submit your website to 75,000 search engines. They often submit your website in such a manner that may result in your website getting permanently banned from search engines. Only do business with services that submit your website to quality web directories and major search engines.

Optimizing your website for search engines is a very important step. To optimize you need to focus on keyword density positioning for the phrases and words for which you want to rank highly. To help the search engines interpret your pages you should also use good Meta tags.

You can optimize your website yourself or search at Google for an optimization consultant. Stay away from those experts charging $1,000 a month or more. They have only one goal and that is to get as much out of you as possible before you figure out they are not helping you. Stay with SEO consultants who charge a fee more reasonable.

Your websites popularity is even more important than SEO. Link popularity is determined by the number of links that are pointed at your website. The more inbound links to your website, the better your website will rank in the search engines.

Of course there are a number of ways that you can increase your inbound links. You can do link exchanges to get reciprocal links between your site and another, you can submit your site to free web directories or write articles and press releases to submit to article directories. Then when a webmaster wants to use your article for free content they need to leave a link back to your website.

Another way to bring visitors to your site if you do not want to wait for your search engine rankings to improve is with pay-per-click. Using this method will attract visitors right away. With pay-per-click you bid for ad position near the top of search engine results and pay for each visitor that click through to your site. Webmasters can spend a lot of money using this method and only make a few sales.

Another good way to promote your website if you are selling a product on it is with an affiliate program. An affiliate program will reward others for promoting your website by giving them a percentage of any sales they generate for you. They may place banner ads on their site using an affiliate code in order to generate an affiliate sale and earn a commission. To get this done you will need a programmer with experience in affiliate programs.

Many internet companies can have thousands of affiliates generating sales or even get all their business in this manner. It costs you nothing up front, all you need to do is recruit affiliates by submitting the program to directories or websites that list affiliate programs. Places like forums, message boards or other places that are visited by webmasters that may be looking for extra revenue.

Understand that most websites are not overnight sensations. Building traffic and success take time and effort put into consistent online marketing. By implementing those tips covered in this article you will get off to a good start.

Internet Marketing: Are You Penny Wise And Dollar Foolish?

6. Feb 2008 01:19, shahjee

To create a civilized Internet market free from ignorance and speculation. To put e-commerce to work for everybody. To offer exclusive and complete sets of tools, products and services. To train users of all levels, from beginners to professionals, to operate an Internet business.

Any worthwhile website providing information on internet, will almost certainly provide an 'about' or 'contact' page which will list the people behind the site. The details should make known a number of key indications about the owner's skill and understanding. This means you can conduct an appraisal about the webmaster's familiarity and qualifications, to offer recommendations concerning internet.

Internet marketing requires research and analysis effort for individual website, followed by optimisation of website. Hundreds of hours may be spent on each website, depending on the size of your targetted market. You are essentially paying for the amount of effort involved, effectiveness of your internet marketer and daily sales tracking of your website.

Internet Marketing: Are You Penny Wise And Dollar Foolish?

It never ceases to amaze me how many people set-up a web site, without any type of plan or clue about how to promote it--how to write a sales letter--how to write an ad--nothing! Fact is, nowadays, anyone can have a web site. But once you get one, then what? How are you going to make money with it?

If you don't know what you're doing, then do the smart thing and consult with an Internet marketing expert.

What? You say you can't afford an Internet marketing expert? Well, believe it or not, there are other ways you can obtain the services of an Internet marketing expert, besides paying an expensive flat rate or hourly fee.

Did it ever occur to you that you can obtain the services of an Internet marketing expert by simply buying his products? So, why should you buy his products?

Because Internet marketing experts are masters at marketing. They've already arrived at the place you want to get to. They also derive great pleasure from sharing their incredible knowledge. They have the answers to every single one of your questions. All you have to do is ask them.

Due to the considerable growth in figures of internet users and because of the inexpensive internet advertising solutions, it has more capability for multimedia subject matter. It could capture texts, images, video and audio. The advertisers could produce logos, moving banners, animated and 3d imagery. With these in hand, advertisers mix these forms to produce successful and low cost internet advertising solutions.

There are new challenges, new strategies and a whole new marketing perspective to be adopted. There are so many internet marketing techniques, too many to count really, and there is loads of advice on the net about internet marketing.

During the last few years, internet has seen phenomenal growth. Internet marketing search engine, helps its clients access internet markets, online customer base and optimize their search engine and advertising efforts to increase web site traffic and improve click to sale ratios.

However, you shouldn't expect any Internet marketing expert to spend their valuable time mentoring you for free. Like I mentioned earlier, at the very least, you have to buy their products. I mean, let's get real. You wouldn't walk into a doctor's or lawyer's office and expect to get free help and advice, now would you?

I can't even begin to count the number of e-mails I receive from people asking me for free advice. I always turn them down. Why? Three reasons: (1) It shows a total lack of respect for me as a professional. (2) Because it wouldn't be fair to my paying clients. (3) I already dispense plenty of free advice via my articles.

It just totally blows my mind that people will spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars promoting a product the wrong way, yet won't spend a few dollars to learn how to do it the right way.

If you aren't making any money, it's obvious you need professional help. Not to seek help is just being "penny wise and dollar foolish!"

And by the way, if you don't even have a couple of hundred dollars to work with, quite frankly, you shouldn't even be in business to begin with!

The Lucky Factor In Internet Marketing

11. Jan 2008 01:05, shahjee

Many people are now seeking for opportunity in internet marketing. Many say that this work is easy, even very easy. But some others say this is not possible for them. What makes people say it is easy? And what makes some others say it is not easy? Some description below may explain.

I have a friend. Let us call him Abc. He just started internet marketing for only two months. At the end of the second month he could grab around $500. His earning is getting higher and higher since then.

I have another friend. Let us call him Def. He has been doing internet marketing for almost one year. But all he can get is around $300. He can get $5 in a day, but in many other days he can earn nothing.

Why is Abc succeed and why is Def not succeed in their internet marketing? Is it “luck”? Can we say Abc is succeed because he is lucky, and Def is not succeed simply because he is not lucky? Just the same as in traditional business, some are successful because he is lucky. But how about in internet marketing? Is it the same as some of those traditional business pathways?

Based on my experiences, people may succeed in internet marketing because of luck. Why do I say that? Let me explain my own experience.

I tried to sell one good product. I would not say what product it was, but let us say I promote Xyz. As it was my first work in internet marketing, I did not want to embarrassed my clients promoting a non high quality product. I really did a research for a high quality product. I want to satisfy my customers, and only recommend good products.

The time I spent for research was about two months. And even to prove that it was a good product, I bought the product. The product was tangible, and not a kind of software, ebook, and other intangible products. I tried it, and found that everything was good as I expected, means almost no bad side in the product. Simply said that I judged it was a high quality product.

Then I started to promote it through many kinds of internet marketing techniques. The first 3 months I did not get earning at all. The first buyer came in the fourth month. My earning was not so good compared to the time I have spent.

Then I started to find another product to promote through internet marketing. This time I did not take a deep research as I did before. I just tried to find the product I need, then find some reviews by googling on the internet. So the research I did was just from other people who have review the product.

And there, I got the product. The time I spend to find the product was less than one day.

As I did with the previous product, I started to promote it with the same internet marketing techniques. In less than five hours I have already got the first buyer. Total in the first day I got 21 buyers. After two months, the statistic showed the stability of the purchase around 35-50 buyers a day. While the statistic of the first product I promote showed only 1-2 buyers a month.

After several months, I still believed that “lucky” was the factor behind my success for the second product. But I must say that the “luck” could be studied. How? Try to find products needed by plenty of people while at the other hand there are not many people offerring the products. That is what we call “niche”. People who can find their niche, they may be lucky. Good luck!

How Rss Can Explode Your Online Profits

16. Dec 2007 20:00, shahjee

RSS provides you with an opportunity to give control to your site visitors over the information they want to receive from you. Though ezines and newsletters also enable the users to voluntarily sign up for similar information, your information may or may not get through the spam filters.

You as a content provider might be giving information about several things. Your clients however need not go through all of it since RSS automatically delivers the content they are really interested in. This way you can provide content catering to the personalized needs of your web site visitors.

In the same feed, you can inform users about upcoming specials, promotions, sales, updates, etc, and other news only to subscribers who want to receive it.

There are several key benefits to using RSS for your online business:

Deliver Keyword Rich Content

With RSS directly reaching the target clientele, you can now concentrate more on delivering keyword rich content that strikes a cord with readers. Quality information is what Internet surfers seek. Instead of spending hours on coming up with advertising gimmicks or the next catchy graphic, give them what they want.

Give Users a Pleasant Experience

How many times do you click on the banners, pop-ups, and pop-unders that sneak up when you visit a web site? Rarely!

More often than not, these so called marketing strategies are annoying. Readers usually click on them to close them and are in a hurry for them to go away. So why bother your prospects with all the junk?

Use RSS to save the subscribers from having to deal with such undesirable elements and offer them a clean and pleasant experience of just going through solid information.

Get Your Content Displayed on Other Sites

A constant complaint from Internet surfers is that content is not updated regularly or that a particular site is poor because it has old content. Using RSS feeds is a popular way for many webmasters to solve this problem, and keep their sites fresh.

If another webmaster finds that your content can enhance his or her web site, they most likely will add your RSS feed.

While you are instrumental in providing new content to visitors of web sites that include your RSS feed, you can also add frequent new information by including relevant RSS feeds of other organizations on your web site – a win-win situation for you, your alliances, and subscribers of web sites.

Content syndication with RSS allows web masters to stop worrying about updating their sites with the latest information. At the same time, readers can be certain of new articles and updates every time they visit an RSS supported site.

Another way of benefiting from content syndication comes from inserting your contact information and a link to your web site in your feed. This will enable interested readers communicate with you. Additionally, the numbers of inward and forward linking to and from you web site also increase thus improving your link popularity and ultimately search engine rankings.

By using RSS as part of your online marketing strategy, you can have targeted information along with regular updates resulting in increased web site traffic and popularity – a key to enhanced sales and profits for any online business.

RSS Do's and Don'ts

16. Dec 2007 19:56, shahjee

RSS is not quite a household word, but technically astute individuals are adopting the use of RSS feeds at an alarming rate. If you are interested in jumping on the bandwagon, but not quite sure of where to start, consider following these simple RSS feed tips to maximize feed compatibility and make your feed stand out from the crowd.

RSS DO's

1. Titles and Descriptions.

Always include meaningful keywords in your RSS feed's Channel title and description. Many readers will view or search for topic specific RSS feeds using keywords or keyword phrases. If you have descriptive keywords in your RSS feed's title and description the feed is more likely to be located and subscribed to by interested parties.

2. GUID Format.

Always include a GUID with each feed item. The GUID is a globally unique identifier. Each post should use a different GUID. The GUID will in some cases assist RSS news readers and aggregation software in determining when new content has been added to the RSS feed or when existing content in an RSS feed has been modified. If you do not use GUID's, the software used to aggregate the feeds may have difficulty detecting changes to feed items or the software may not always recognize new content.

3. Publish Dates.

Always include a publish date on feed items. The publish date should be used even if the content is timeless. The Publish Date will help readers determine that status of the content contained in the feed item.

4. Polish Your Feed.

Consider including images within your RSS feed. While the added images will not necessarily improve ranking, they will add a polished look to your RSS feed and help brand your feed.

5. Feed Hosting.

Either host your own feed, or set it up to forward to a third party from your website. This will allow you retain complete control over the RSS feed. You will not need to rely on the stability of another company. If you control the forwarding and at any point you are dissatisfied with the service provided by the third party, you can redirect the feed to another location.

RSS DON'Ts

1. Plagiarize.

Do not plagiarize content in your RSS feed, there is little more to be said. Written words are considered protected in most countries. Posting someone else's work and taking credit for their words is wrong and will damage your reputation as a credible source.

2. Splog.

Do not create splogs by automating feed creation. Splogs just clutter the search engines and directories and make it difficult to locate RSS feeds with meaningful content.

3. Violate Copyrights.

Do not violate copyrights by republishing an RSS feeds contents. If you quote content from another RSS feed, credit the source and provide and link to the original source of the content. As a rule of thumb, editorial content should exceed the length of the quoted material in the post.

4. Violate TOS.

Do not republish RSS feeds without confirming that feed syndication is allowed. The terms of use are not always apparent, so it is important that you check the terms of service on the publisher's feed subscription page prior to syndicating the contents of another publisher's RSS feed.

5. Provide Multiple Feed Formats.

Do not provide multiple feed formats for the same content. As far as the subscriber is concerned, the version of RSS that you are using is irrelevant. Multiple versions of the same feed simply cause confusion. Almost all RSS readers and news aggregators support all versions of RSS, simply choose a version and provide a single feed.

By adopting good feed practices, you can reap the benefits of having an RSS feed. Following these simple RSS do's and don'ts will get you started on the path to RSS success.

Keep Visitors Returning To Your Web Site

15. Dec 2007 22:17, shahjee

All successful websites depend on returning visitors as they account for a significant proportion of their traffic. Returning visitors are easier to convert into paying customers because of the credibility issue: the more visits, the more trust is built up. Therefore, to keep your visitors coming back to your website, try some or all of the following methods:

1) Start a forum

When you start a forum, you provide your visitors with a place to voice their opinions and interact with other visitors. As conversations build, a sense of community follows and your visitors will come back to your site religiously.

2) Start a blog

Create a blog attached to your website and keep it updated with the latest news or stories. Human beings are curious creatures and they will return to your website if you post fresh content frequently. You will also build up your credibility as you are proving to them that there is also a real live person behind the website.

3) Carry out polls or surveys

Polls and surveys are other forms of interaction that you should consider adding. They provide a quick way for visitors to interact with your website. Be sure that the polls or surveys are relevant to your website’s theme. Your visitors will return to find out the results.

4) Puzzles, quizzes, games and jokes.

How many bored people are out there looking for something stimulating or amusing. People will keep visiting your site if you provide them with interesting, amusing or addictive forms of entertainment. You could also hold competitions and reward the winners. This will definitely keep people coming back trying to win a prize or read the joke of the day.

5) Update frequently

Update your site frequently with fresh content so that every time your visitors return, they will have something new to read. This is the most effective method of attracting returning visitors, but this it is also the least carried out one. No one wants to browse a site that looks the same year in year out, so keep your site updated with fresh content.

18. Nov 2007 07:35, shahjee

Content & Community are two of the most important concepts to the online marketer. Content is all the information that makes up your site. It can also be expanded to include everything else on your site such as links, images & buttons etc. and Community is the group of people who regularly visit your site and view it as a useful resource. Your community is important for a number of reasons:

Brings in new customers through recommendations

Increases your brand

Maintains customer loyalty

Provide Quality Content

The content of your site needs careful consideration. This is the reason people are visiting your site. They are looking for good information. You should decide what information you want to include at the brief stage. Alternatively you can complete your brief and let us advise you on suitable subjects.

Due to the enormous amount of information already on the web, you need to make yours stand out from the crowd. You need to get your message across in a unique and compelling way. This will encourage visitors to return on a regular basis to your site which should result in a purchase. They then become a member of your community and are your best prospects for building long term relationships.

Here are a few suggestions for interesting content:

• Product/Service Sales Information

• Info & contact details for key personnel

• Price list, ordering & information

• Technical specifications

• Annual Report/Accounts

• Product Research & Development

• Free Reports To Download

• History of your company, product, industry

• Articles/Press Releases

 • Competitions/Online Games

• Links to other related sites & resources

• What's New: latest updates on your web site

• Frequently Asked Questions

• Free Online or email Newsletter

Once you have decided on the content, your text will need editing into marketing copy, or copywriting. This is the use of words to enhance the appeal of your product by emphasizing the Unique Selling Proposition (USP) and appeal to the " customer.

Identify Your Unique Selling Position (USP)

The unique selling proposition (or position) is the benefits that make your offer stand out from your competitors. These benefits could be lower price, better service, longer warranty, interest free credit, hand crafted etc., etc., etc. These benefits must answer the basic motives of the prospect, which is - "what they are going to get from the product" or put another way, "What's in it for me" known as "WIIFM".

These factors are put together using the AIDA formula, which is: Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action. This formula builds the copy up to a peak of persuasion, leading the casual visitor, step by step, up to the point where they can be directed to take further action such as placing an order or contacting you NOW.

The Tools to Build your Community

Building your Community is the best way to develop long term relationships with regular visitors to your site. Giving you the opportunity to keep in touch and provide them with up to date information by newsletters or bulletins. Forums are very popular with regular visitors, and a very effective research source for you. These are your prospects, and there are community building tools you can add to your site allowing you to keep in touch and build ongoing relationships with your clients, plus future sales. The tools include...

Ezine Server

An ezine server allows you to keep in touch with your customers through email marketing, to build long term business relationships and on-going sales. This relationship marketing approach has proven to be one of the most effective methods of online promotion available.

Follow-Up Autoresponder

This facility once set up, allows you to send automated follow up sales related messages to your customer thereby further increasing sales. It has been proven that clients need at least 7 exposures to your company or advertising message before they may be ready to buy. By offering a free multipart course of information via your auto-responder you can achieve maximum exposure in minimum time. This follow-up method has proven to dramatically increase sales conversion rates.

Message Forum

A message forum is an extremely effective community building and customer service tool allowing your customers and company representatives to interact with each other through messages left in an online forum - when used correctly can be a good market research and sales prospecting tool.

Chat Forum & Instant Messaging

This is a tool allowing real time chat and online communication between prospective customers and your company representatives for customer service or simply as a useful tool on your site for customers to interact with each other.

We can provide everything you need for your online business whether you want to Self Build, use our Self Service Project Cart, or would prefer a Full Service Solution. Or even have a mix of all three.

What Is Internet Marketing And How It Can Bring You Money!

22. Sep 2007 07:52, shahjee

Ever since the development of the internet, the internet marketing has continuously grown and it is today one of the most profitable businesses. It has many shapes and sizes, from people who make a small revenue to real giants who make millions and billions of dollars. If you want to get your hands on a piece of the big pie, you have to know that competition is fierce, but with a little bit of luck and a lot of commitment, it can be done.

First of all, what is internet marketing? Moreover, what is marketing itself? Many people when they hear the term “marketing” they think of MLM, and many companies think that marketing means training a few persons and throwing them into the street to sell their products. These are common mistakes, and marketing is much more than that.

In the decades before the internet, there was a product-oriented marketing strategy. Nowadays, the smart business persons have realized that an effective marketing strategy is a client-oriented one. Managing to satisfy your customers, that’s the key to success. If you do that, the word about your products’ high quality will spread around an entire network of potential customers, because of people’s talkative nature.

Virtually anything and everything is being marketed nowadays on the internet, and will be to an ever more extent in the future. If you hear people who say that making money online is not possible, ignore them, because the internet is the way of the future. Millions of people go shopping on the internet, and this market is continuously growing.

I believe that the key of successful online money making is specialization. Given the great number of marketers available out there, the way to go is originality. I mean, let’s say you want to open a bookstore. Now, if done in an offline conventional way, unless you have a very fat budget, you’re lucky if you manage to penetrate your city’s market.

Now, if you were to make an online bookstore, the possibilities are infinite. You have every internet surfer as a potential buyer and it’s your choice how you attract them. Still, if you are from England and the books are delivered from there, maybe a person from Japan feels more comfortable to go a few streets away than to buy from you. That’s where specialization comes in.

Let’s say you like playing the guitar. If you open a bookstore with guitar books, a Japanese person would really consider buying from you and going through all the payment and delivery procedures. Sure, your targeted market narrows a lot, because not every person wants to learn how to play guitar, but it’s still a very, very large one. Moreover, the guitar playing internet surfers will be delighted about having a site with guitar books.

In your internet marketing strategies, you can also sell other merchants’ products. If we were to go back to that guitar example, you could make a very cool website about guitars. Then, after you manage to get a big number of visitors to your website, you can make affiliate associations with partners who sell guitar-related products. In other words, if your visitors click on your website’s links to your partners and buy something from them, you get a commission.

There are actually countless internet marketing strategies and you can design some yourself. The truth is that making money online is possible. However, the most important aspect that I’d like to underline is what I told you earlier: THE CUSTOMER.

The customer is the one that is going to bring you money and he’s the one that’s going to recommend you to others. You should always communicate with your clients and try to look at them as different individuals. If you manage to do that, your success is guaranteed.

How can you make them happy? It’s not easy, and it really puts your marketing abilities to the test. Try to answer each and every e-mail, try to identify with everyone’s needs. If you can’t do that on your own, hire someone to do it. I mean, if you have that many customers, you can afford hiring another person, right? And although this is a quite difficult task, it will bring you the desired results. With a client-oriented approach, your internet marketing will be a success!

Internet Marketing for the Newcomer

31. Aug 2007 20:17, shahjee

With the popularity of the World Wide Web expanding around the Globe, more and more people will try their hand at making a living on line with Internet Marketing. Whether, it’s to break away from a ‘Dead End’ job or get a way from a Boss you dislike! Or perhaps a single parent with a need to supplement an income. Retirees wishing to add to their pensions! or full blown marketers setting out to build a Million Dollar Internet Business.

One thing for certain, they all have one thing in common! A desire for financial independence. To being financially secure as to not to have to worry about those monthly bills. To be able to live a lifestyle any where they choose. Live on the Beach, High in the Mountains, London, Paris or Rome! They world really is your oyster if you are able to make a success of creating an income On-Line.

Anyone can start an Internet Marketing Business. There no real huge investment requiring bank loans, No buildings to maintain, no staff, and office costs etc. All you kneed is a computer, telephone line and an Internet connection.

Simple! Not quite! A word of caution. If it was that easy we would all be Internet Millionaires. The subject of Internet Marketing is a very broad one indeed one of the most covered topics today. And it’s one that I will not enter into here. But Internet marketing is just that: ‘Marketing on the Internet’.

When starting out, it’s important not to let your enthusiasm, trap you into exchanging one set of restrictions for yet another! Set a clear plan of the lifestyle to wish to have, and how much time you intend to spend on achieving it. After all you don’t want to spend 12 hours a day in front of a computer making money for the sake of it! Keep you reasons for making money with Internet Marketing in the forefront of your mind.

The whole idea of making money on line by harnessing the power of Internet technology, is to reduce the amount of time creating the necessary wealth to sustain an existing lifestyle or to fulfil the ambition of a better one! If successful, the reward is the freedom to enjoy the rewards and other pursuits, such as family, hobbies, and sports etc. Things that add to the quality that makes life worth while

Have some discipline! Create a time plan. Don’t spend all of it in front of the computer. You will not obtain all the knowledge that you kneed as if by magic or willpower alone! Take time out to read the information that you feel will assist your business. Also, and most important, do not spend the time on line at the expense of the precious time usually spent with friends and family. After all you don’t want to gain a business and lose what you already have!

Just like any “Off-Line” Business. Take time to investigate all the options. What suits you best? Try to develop a business plan!. Create some sort of a feasibility study! Keep your ultimate goal in mind by all means, but don’t try to run before you can walk. An online Internet Marketing business is just like any ‘Off-Line’ Business, whether it is Part Time or Full Time. It is still a ‘Business’ and can be wildly successful beyond you wildest dreams or be a miserable failure.

Take into consideration you technical knowledge, marketing experience, your strengths and weakness. Should you begin by selling a product or join a ‘turnkey’ affiliate programme? Decide on the amount of time to spend on your business? For the things your not sure of, there is a multitude of “How To” products out there for you to take advantage of. (That’s a huge market in itself). Some are good, some bad, some are free and others come with a price tag. But they all sing the same song, perhaps to a different tune.

But whatever you find, take the time to read and absorb what you have learnt! Trust me on this one. I know for certain I am not the only one, that in my enthusiasm to get started, rushed out, credit card in hand, and downloaded a bunch of “How To” products, only to read a paragraph or two before another offer caught my eye, and the “Order Now” button was clicked, yet again!! There were also occasions when I discovered that I purchased stuff I had already downloaded months before and not taken the time to read!! And they were all sitting on my Hard Drive gathering cyber dust. How stupid is that? Don’t make the same mistake. Have patients. More haste less speed.

One you have decided on what project or programme you are going to promote. Stick to it! Exhaust every avenue within you knowledge range, time and budget until it becomes either the success you are looking for or proves to be the wrong vehicle for you. Either way, you will learn something along the way, and saved a bunch of money and time with this philosophy. Internet marketing is exciting, challenging, and sometimes confusing... Internet marketing is not easy, but it also does not have to be difficult. Stick to one product or programme at a time. Don’t make the mistake of diluting your efforts by running after too many projects at one time. Don’t spread your self too thin. A moving glass will never burn the paper!

Steer clear of the “Get Rich in 48 Hours….without lifting a finger” schemes. There is no such thing as a “Free Lunch” and nothing in this world is obtained without some effort! The pockets of the promoters of these “Get Rich” Schemes are well lined, and he Internet is paved with the dreams of the folks who rushed out and signed up for them. Ask you self, would you have fallen for this or that scheme if you had read it in your local paper? The Internet is no different. than the real world that we live in.

One final thought; Try to acquire the necessary tools to make your Internet Marketing business a success. Set out achievable goals. – Don’t overload yourself. Take small steps within certain time frames. Work your way through one step at a time. Don’t move on until you have reached this goal. Build on your successes one step at a time. This way you build a strong foundation and sustain the growth of your business to achieve your dreams Try to step out of your skin. Pretend that you are hiring yourself- like a new employee that has to learn the ropes. As a boss, you wouldn't unfairly overload a newcomer starting out in the Internet Marketing business - so don't do it to yourself!

Last but not least; Dare to dream! Believe in your dreams! Believe in yourself! Your future is too important. Take the time to get to the top.

To Your success

Are You Profiting From Your Whole Website?

29. Aug 2007 05:34, shahjee

You have a sales page or pages, opt-in pages, and thank you pages on your website, as well as any articles and news on there. You have made sure there are links to your subscribe forms on all the pages, so you have just about covered your whole site right?

Not quite, ignoring the fact that you probably have tons of spare webspace left unused, there are more places to make profits on your exisiting pages right now. We're not just talking selling banner impressions or placing Adsense either. The unused, lost profit sections of your website are making those people who know about them a whole heap of extra profits, so where are these places?

We can start straight away with your thankyou pages. Each time a visitor gets to one of these, it means they have placed some trust in you. They have taken on board your advice, and signed up or bought something from you. So while your new customer or subscriber is in this trusting mood, offer them something else. An upsell, a complimentary product, or a free gift for subscribing to another of your lists. Whatever you do, make the most of this chance to make a little extra from someone who knows you offer good advice, but don't insult them with any old offer, or you lose the trust again instantly.

Another place for increasing your profits by using dead webspace is your error pages. You know, those ones which tell your visitor the page can not be displayed, go somewhere else. Instead of that, you can customise these pages, and make an offer to the people who see the page instead of losing them. Don't just send them back to your home page or sales page either, offer a compelling, super bargain on your error page, and capture a customer immediately.

Want to see how much potential just one of your error pages has?

Just look at your stats for your website, and you may be surprised how many people are seeing just the 404 error page, the one that usually says.

"Page cannot be found, this page may have been deleted or moved" or some variation of that message. I checked, and in August 2006, on just one of my sites, that page was seen over 4000 times!

When you started your website, you would have sold your soul for 4000 hits to a single page right? I know I would, and when I saw this huge waste of potential, I did something about it. It's not even difficult if you can build a webpage.

All you need to do is login to your control panel, (this is for cpanel based webhosts but others may be similar) and click the "Custom Error Pages" icon. Now choose to edit the 404 error page, and replace the message with your own offer instead. Save the file, and go and check your sites new error page by typing in a url you know doesn't exist.

Now you have a brand new page pulling in potential sales without any extra work. We don't suggest you do this to all the error pages, as some can be used to help debug scripts which aren't working, but there's nothing to stop you from looking around your site for other places you aren't using to maximise your profits from your website.

Some People Complicate Online Marketing - Why? 3 Tips Explaining The Secret Of Online Marketing

23. Aug 2007 07:49, shahjee

While people are browsing around the internet, they might come across some sites that make big promises on how to cash in on the web and they think that because the sales letter they just saw says they need to unload lots of money and reinvent the wheel to make lots of cash, they give it a go and end up in the red in the process and you can bet they never want to try to make money have a business on the internet ever again. It is a vicious cycle that we see every day.

The truth is that it does not have to be this way. Making money on the web is not a secret, but if you have no idea how to do it, let me suggest three tips that will be invaluable to you and give you the ability to start generating profits online very quickly and very easily. Ready? Let's go...

Tip #1 – Figure out what people need! No, I'm serious. Determine what it is that people need. How? There are several ways. You could go to amazon. You can go over to shopping.yahoo.com and see what is on their hot sellers list for any category. Go over to eBay and determine what the hot items are on The Pulse. Go to eBay and see what the top items are on The Pulse. Last you could go to any of your favorite shopping sites and see what is on special or what their bestsellers are and you will get an idea of what people want to buy.

You could also go to Clickbank and find several thousands of digital products that people are selling online that should give you a ton of ideas for what people are buying. Tip, at Clickbank, the higher the "gravity" the more popular the product.

Tip #2 – Now a lot of internet marketers would tell you to find distributors so you can source physical products that people are looking for online. While that is a good idea and I myself started out that way for my first internet marketing business, I'm going to show you something so much easier that even you can put into place today. Rather than contacting distributors and actually selling products to people it is so simple to just recommend other marketers products and bring in a commission off of the product that you suggest. I have seen commissions ranging from 4% to 75% that the seller will pay you just forgiving a recommendation for his or her product.

Let me tell you what is great about this marketing method is that you do not have to deal with the headaches of shipping and handling, replying to emails, bothering with returns or any of the common headaches that come with selling your own product.

I suggest starting off recommending one or two products on your blog. This is important because it will make it easier for you to find out everything you can about the product to recommend. In all actuality you do not even need to have your own website or blog to use this money making technique; you can piggyback off of other websites and still make really good money and have a great time all along. When you have decided on 1 or two items that you would like to recommend you want to make sure that the seller has what is called an affiliate program or partner program. These are very common terms that simply mean that the owner of the website has a system in place that will pay you commissions when you refer a sale.

Believe it or not these business owners are ready and waiting to give a commission to anyone who is willing to tell other people about their products. There are affiliate programs for just about any type of product you can think of. One of the coolest things about this method is that it can be pretty fun. Believe it or not there is one more thing that is even better; anyone can start an online business like this for under $5.

The more you start doing this, the better you will get and online marketing will become clearer. So why don't you let the aura of secrecy fade away into cash in your pocket!

How's Your Book Marketing Working?

19. Aug 2007 00:23, shahjee

Did you get all the book sales you wanted last year?

Think about the time, effort and money you invested. Which one's paid off? Which were losers?

One client confessed she bought an expensive program to get her book listed as top seller on Amazon. She worked hard and long hours to get a lot of bonus products and services offered as a bonus to entice others to buy. What's wrong with this picture?

Even if she did get a lot of sales on one day, what about the rest of the year? The next year? Life time sales?

Others tried press releases, book talks, and networking, but found the effort to experience these far outweighed the profits.

Look Over Last Year and Write your Marketing Duds and Successes Down!

1.At the top of a piece of paper, write Book Marketing and the year at the top.

2. List all of the marketing you did for the year. List everything from phone calls to email.

3. List the hours of effort for each effort. Which method paid off? Take a look at your time investment. Without consistent, continuous marketing, no much happens.

4. List the costs for each effort. Educating yourself doesn't have to cost a lot. Don't fall for the glitzy, expensive offers that don't focus on your particular needs.

5. Line through the actions that did not pay off.

6. Mark the ones you enjoyed doing and that gave you contacts, feedback or sales. It's good to keep doing what you love because you are more likely to do it.

7. Write down the dollar success you made.

Yes, visibility is OK, but without sales, so what?

If you really want more effective, easier and cheaper ways to market your book, you need to widen your vision to include internet marketing. (That includes your web site and email)

If you are a reluctant marketer or an introvert, internet marketing works well because you don't have to "tell and sell."

Maybe you resist. You barely know about email and have fear of the techie world of the internet. Or, you may have a web site that nobody visits. Most first web sites fail because the owners didn't think about marketing when they hired their first web designer. And many web designers are good with graphics but don't know marketing. Always write your sales copy before you hire a webmaster. If you don't know how, it's a good idea to visit web sites that have good examples. Plan on investing a little money of copywriting too.

The solutions? Just open your mind to it. Six years ago your coach kicked and screamed because she was a newbie and non-techie. But, little by little, she overcame her fears because she connected with techie and business mentors. Once she got the key steps and skills, her business took off.

You too can find out more about such internet marketing as advanced article marketing and email promotion by connecting with a coach, reading books on it with a recent copyright, or taking a teleseminar. This kind of marketing educates your audience and shows you as the savvy expert in your field. Start small and build your skills and confidence so you can take advantage of the much bigger piece of the pie at a much smaller price in time and money.

Email Newsletters: Turning Words Into Dollars

17. Aug 2007 06:24, shahjee

By: Carol Solomon

If you want to market your business on the internet, building your business with email newsletters is a massively important skill.

One reason that email newsletters are so effective is that it keeps you (and your service) in the minds of your potential clients. When your potential clients are ready, and they have a need for your service, they will contact you.

Connecting with people through email newsletters takes a special kind of skill. Email newsletters create familiarity and comfort with the readers. The main purpose of an email newsletter is to build a relationship with your subscribers.

REMEMBER: It's not your readers' job to remember you. It's YOUR job to make sure they don't forget you.

Since I like to respect your time (and follow my own advice), here are 8 quick tips to increase your success and profit in writing for email newsletters:

1. Spell it out. People want "step by step" instructions – it makes any task seem easier and more manageable. If you can tell someone "how to" solve a problem or manage a difficult situation in steps, your newsletter WILL get read.

2. Send it out often. Many coaches think they do not have time (or words) to write a newsletter more than once per month. But, anyone who has survived to adulthood has enough material to write for a lifetime :-). Keeping it short and sending it out more often gives people more opportunities to contact you.

3. Give your readers a consistent product with a consistent format. Consistency builds trust and confidence. The number one reason people buy something is trust and confidence in the person making the offer.

4. Make lots of offers. Put an offer for your services in every issue and encourage people to contact you. Offer different products and services – for example, some clients want individual coaching, others prefer a group. I offer both.

5. Some people will never hire you, but they will purchase an ebook or a teleclass. Find out what your readers want and create it for them.

6. Offer something free (and valuable) – a free consultation, teleclass, or a special report. Even if your readers don't take you up on it, it is beneficial to offer something – your readers will remember that you offered a gift.

7. Don't forget how valuable your information is to people who don't have it. Most professionals underestimate the VALUE of what we know. Personally, I think that the work we do is BEYOND the value of money – how can you put a value on helping someone build a business or be more effective in their life and work?

8. Be patient. You are building a relationship with your readers. It can take about 1000 subscribers before you start seeing income. Once you get that first client, you will never look back.

How to Recover Every Dollar of Your Advertising Expenses from Now On?

1. Jul 2007 05:33, shahjee

By: Murtuza Abbas

What is I showed you a killer way to make sure that you recover your advertising expenses, turbo boost your websites lead generation power and make some serious money in return?

This tactic will hardly take you some few hours to setup but it will dramatically improve your websites conversion ratio and help you to attract more sales out of thin air.

Also you will recover your advertising cost in the process. Spend $100 in advertising your website and instantly make $120 or $150 along with tons of leads and long term sales.

Donot take this tactic lightly, it is proven to work and has generated millions of dollars worth of sales for top marketers who knows the power of this simple but powerful tactic.

Here's how to implement this tactic with your own products and services.

As per copywriting and pshychological experts, a quality product with a powerful copy that costs under $20 will lead to instant purchase decision by the customers.

Therefore what you need to do is create a killer package, product or service that costs under $20 and is related to your main product.

You might be in a niche where it is impossible to create a product that sells for under $20. But if you apply some creativity you can create an information product and sell it for under $20 to your visitors.

Information products like ebook, reports, tutorials, audios, videos, etc will cost nothing to create and then you can distribute them to your customers absolutely free.

So make sure you create a quality product with powerful copy for under $20.

Once you do this, create a salespage with a 'One Time Offer'. That means that you will tell your visitors that they will view this page only ONCE and they will never be taken to this page again through any of your webpages or emails or through any links.

This is known as ONE TIME OFFER.

Once you have created this one time offer page, what you need to do is put this page as a thank you page that you will redirect your subscribers to once they fill out your optin form.

Here's what happens. You advertise your lead page for 20 cents per click on google adwords for example.

For $100 google sends you 500 visitors. Out of these 500 visitors 150 signup as your subscriber. Then they get redirected to your 'One Time Offer' webpage where you are selling your product for $20.

Let us assume that this product converts 4% of your visitors into customers. With this conversion ratio you will sell 6 products out of 150 subscribers who will see your one time offer.

You have made $120 out of your leads instantly. You spend $100 on advertising and you made $120, that's a net profit of $20.

Along with that you received 150 leads absolutely free. Your autoresponder follow up system will sell your main product to these 150 leads and convert into more profits.

Can you see the power of this system? This will help you to skyrocket your conversion ratio through the roof and make sure that you recover back your advertising expenses instantly.

There has never been a better time for you to make MORE money from your leads than it is today.

Reseller Programs to Earn Income

30. Jun 2007 05:15, shahjee

By: Steven Gerber

Sometimes staying at home has its own advantages. Not going to work on the other hand may pose other problems. Like for instance where will you get the money to finance your daily expenses?
